Vicki Dee Searcy, 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center.
Vicki was born on September 10, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa to Verle and Vadonna (Bryan) Wilson. She grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Valley High School in 1962, where she met many lifelong friends.
She attended Drake University to become a teacher. Vicki married Charles Searcy on August 4, 1964, and the two were happily married for 54 years.
She was a devoted woman of God, and shared her love of teaching through Missionettes at Des Moines First She retired from Iowa Realty after 25 years of service.
In her later years, she was involved with bible study, Royal Ambassadors Club and the Widows Club. She gained many lifelong friendships that she was forever thankful for.
Vicki is survived by her sister, Valerie (Tony) Wilson; children, Michelle (Anthony) Hamlin, and Bryan Searcy; grandchildren, Kelsie (Jake) Searcy, Rachel (Phillip) Searcy, Elijah (Teri) Searcy, Natalie Hamlin and Lillie Hamlin.
In death Vicki rejoins her husband, Charles “Chuck” Searcy; parents, Verle and Vadonna Wilson; and sister, Verlene Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Monday, March 25th at Des Moines First, 2725 Merle Hay Rd., Des Moines. Burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Our loss is heavens gain. So thankful we will meet again some day. I feel privileged to have had Vicki for a friend. She was a beautiful Godly woman. Praying for the family.
