Michael Brown, Jr., age 55, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. He was born to Michael and Ann Brown, Sr., on April 30, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois.

He loved cooking and collecting many types of unique gadgets. Michael was a profound, deep thinker and enjoyed sharing special quotes and sayings. Above all else, treasured time spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his significant other, Anita Brown; daughters, Raenice Brown and Mikeyla Brown; step-daughters, Rashawna Golden and Rochelle Hall; grandchildren, Zy'Arah Brown, Zy'Ayla Lyke, Jonce, Solomon & Leliana Tolfree, Leiah Hall & Raigen & J.T. Golden; great-granddaughter, Raniah Totaye; parents, Michael Sr., and Ann Brown; siblings, Michelle, William and Camille Brown; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Essence and Aaron Brown, Trey Kidd, Elijah Brown-Stokes and Kaden Boutchee; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and many special friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his aunts and uncles, Arlinda Lewis, Willie Haygood, Herman Lee Haygood, Harold Haygood, Marvin Haygood, and Diane “Dede” Washington.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
