Service Details

Delbert Wadle, 72, passed away Friday, December 19, 2008 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm Monday at the funeral home.
Delbert was born at home in Lacona, Iowa to Andrew and Marie (Schurman) Wadle. He attended country schools and Lacona High School and served in the US Army during the 1950’s. Delbert enjoyed camping, fishing and Bluegrass and old country music festivals. He also belonged to a camping club, the Central Iowa Barbeque Club.He retired from John Deere in Ankeny, after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Vera and children, Sue (Roger) Oakes of Milo, Carol (Dan) Steffen of Pleasant Hill, David Hunt of Chariton and Jeff Wadle of Des Moines. Three grandchildren, Sheila Laurie of Des Moines, Sherry Oakes of Des Moines, and Kim Steffen of Pleasant Hill and 2 great grandchildren. His brother, Norman Wadle (Karan) of Milo and sister, Helen Hunter of Indianola. Delbert is preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Danny.
