Randy Edward Mickle

Randy Edward Mickle, 60, passed away March 13, 2019 of pancreatic cancer at Taylor House Hospice. His life will be honored at a visitation on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. Randy’s cremated remains will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Randy was born September 11, 1958 to William Joe and Beverly Jean (Soloman) Mickle, Sr. in Des Moines, IA. He was a life-long resident of Des Moines and graduated from North High School. Randy was a kind-hearted man who never knew a stranger. He was easy to get along with and was a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed hanging out with his siblings, Vicky and Bill, and friends, Adam and Glenn, dining at Denny’s – his favorite restaurant, going for ice cream, fishing, bowling and playing with his remote cars. He looked forward to seeing his friends each day at Camp Sunnyside, was an avid old western and shark movies fan, and loved going out to the movies.

He is survived by his siblings, Ernest (Debbie) Mickle, Vicky (Clay Alan) Pryor, and William Joe Mickle, Jr., numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; his step-children, Jerry (Kat) Barron Miller and Karla Crawford; and step-granddaughter, Jesscera Barron Miller. Randy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandy Myers; his parents; sister, Barbara Jean; brother, Ricky Joe; and sister-in-law, Lynn Gail Mickle.
