Wesley Blaine Nible
March 13, 2019
Wesley B. Nible, 61, passed away on March 13, 2019, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He was born in Des Moines, on April 21, 1957, to Robert and Virginia Nible.
Wesley graduated from Norwalk High School in 1975 and began working in his parents’ family business, Contract Transport, Inc in Des Moines. He worked as a mechanic and a truck driver before moving to his current position as President of Operations.
Wesley had a fascination for speed and anything fast, like cars, race cars, 4 wheelers and snowmobiles. He was very audio and technically savvy, always owning the newest piece of equipment before it was even popular. Wesley loved RC trucks, drones, planes, motors, surround sound, speakers and any gadget from Costco or Sam’s Club. He also built the computer network for the company. Wesley was a man’s man and could fix or build anything. He spoiled his cat Fiona even more than his own grandchildren.
Wesley is survived by his four children, Travis (Kara) Nible, Sarah (Ronald) Harmon, Kari Davis and Elizabeth Nible; grandchildren, Ronald and Alexandria Harmon; mother, Virginia Nible; his beloved cat, Princess Fiona Nible; companion, Karen Smith; three siblings, Sandi (Allen) Bergman, Jeane Nible, and James (Judy) Nible; nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Burial will be at a later date at Berwick Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

I grew up with Wes. He was like a little brother to me. I stayed overnight with him a couple of times and we always had fun. His parents, Virginia and Bob, were always kind to me. He was a good friend, and I will miss him. I will be keeping his family in my thoughts and prayers.

I have had the pleasure of selling Wes and Contract Transport many trucks over the past 20 years. I always admired Wes's ability to take a truck dash apart and put it back together- no challenge was too big or too small. His hand shake was a deal. His word good as gold- my sincere condolences to the Family of Contract Transport- he will be missed!

Knew Wes and his wonderful family through Contract Transport as one of his truck vendors. He was a man of his word and extremely loyal. I considered him more friend than customer. One of the most dedicated and hardworking people I ever met. When I remember Wes I will always remember his smile and laugh.
