Larry C. Young

Larry Channing Young, age 71, died Friday, March 8, 2019 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Larry was born June 15, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Hershal and Genevieve Young. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Frankfurt and Berlin, Germany. He married Sharon Agee on August 28, 1969. He worked as a mail carrier for Purolator and Emery Worldwide for many years. Larry was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, sports, and shooting - including skeet and trap shooting - and won many shooting contests.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Young; siblings, Louanna (Harold) Brock and James Young; niece and nephews, Selena Harrington, Aaron Harrington, and Tim Harrington; and many other extended family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Hershal and Genevieve Young.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
