Anna Ronning

Anna Ovidia Ronning, 99, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Taylor House Hospice. She was born on June 26, 1909 in Lanesboro, Minnesota. A graduate of Lanesboro High School, Anna moved to Des Moines as a young woman and worked for the State of Iowa until retirement and then with the Automatic Sprinkler Corporation. Anna loved life and enjoyed bowling, playing cards and traveling. She was active in the Capital Hill Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway, Marsteinen Lodge.
Anna was preceded in death by her beloved sister Clara and brother Conrad. She is survived by her loving nephews, Andrew Ronning of St. Charles, IL, John Ronning of Lincolnwood, IL, and Anthony Ronning of Oak Park, IL; niece Catherine Ronning of Laurel, MD; three great-nephews and one great-niece, extended family and many friends. She will be sorely missed by all.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., Des Moines. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2008, at Capitol Hill Lutheran Church, with interment at Glendale Cemetery.
