Martha Kidd
February 16, 2019
Martha Kidd passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 16, 2019. She was 77 years old. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February, 20th at 10:30 am at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. Private burial will follow at Carlisle Township Cemetery.
Martha was born on March 17, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa and lived in Carlisle during her childhood. She met her husband Jim Kidd during her years at Coe College and they eventually married and had two children.
Martha was a caring, strong, sarcastic, woman who kept it “real” all the time. She was that sassy, fun loving lady that told you how it was and made it genuine. She was committed to her children, her friends and her community.
Martha was also Jim’s soul mate and life partner and she can never be replaced. She was her children’s best friend and to have a mother like that is a gift that will be cherished forever.
Left to mourn Martha is her husband of 55 years, James; her two children, Kim and Jeff; three grandchildren, Adam, Peter and Jake; and three great-granddaughters.

Jim and family, thinking of you during this sad, sad time. Although many years ago, Martha was always a ray of sunshine when she entered the office. Can't forget her laugh!
May your happy memories help ease your grief.

My beloved Sister (in-law) was truly An Original! Her love of family, quick wit, and ability to turn an ordinary day into a day of fun and laughter will always stay with me. I will always treasure our family vacations together, whether we were at the Outer Banks of NC, Boyds Resort in WI, or in Glenview IL. - Martha made each day fun!
I will miss her dearly but Im so grateful to have been part of her life - I loved this sassy and wonderful lady!

Martha and I worked together many decades ago, but the term WORK is very misleading. Martha brought sunshine with her even on a cloudy day. Her quick wit and laughter was very contagious as anyone around her will agree.
Jim, Kim and Jeff, we all share in your loss...

My Aunt Martha was truly a one-of-a-kind lady with the greatest sense of humor. She was smart, stylish, and sassy. Beneath her tough outer shell was a caring woman who loved her friends and family with strong devotion. I'll never forget Martha's laugh and the curse words that slipped from her lips like honey. Here's to you, Auntie. I love you and wish you all the best on your journey to the next frontier.
