Service Details
Clark E. “Bud” Moore, Jr. died Tuesday at the Marshalltown Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Bud was born April 23, 1933 in Des Moines to Clark, Sr. and A. Ruth (Toland) Moore. He is a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Reserves. Bud worked as a postal clerk for the U.S. Post Office. He was a member of the Southgate Lodge and AmVets. He was also an avid camper.
Bud is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen; daughter, Sheryl (Lary) Norlin; sons, Michael (Lori) Moore and Kelly (Marsha Houseman) Moore; sisters, Vivian, Delores and Betty; grandchildren, Bobby, Laura, Cheri, Amy, Ella and Quintin; and great-grandson, DiAnte. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Harold.

Bud was like a dad to me. My dad, Herman Heffnieder, and Bud served in the Navy together on the USS Toledo. In fact, Bud (and Helen) attended my wedding last year here in Joplin, Missouri. Bud will truly be missed by all my family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your families.

I am very sorry to hear of Bud's passing. Bud was absolutely dependable and a pleasure to work with during my time in the Quality Control office at the Post Office. Bud was always upbeat and never appeared to have a bad day. His tales of hunting, camping and outdoor activities were always a welcome diversion from the chores at hand.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Bud at the Post Office. I remember Bud as very proud husband and father to both his family and love of country. Bud wasn't shy nor afraid to speak his mind. He came form a era of hard work and discipline. He will be remembered by friends and love ones.

I'm sorry to hear of Bud's passing. I worked with him at the Post Office. Bud was alway a happy person. Always upbeat. I never saw him have a bad day. He was a great guy. I'm so sorry for your loss. He is in our thoughts and prayers.
