Susan Haines

Susan G. Haines, 57, passed away December 16, 2008. Susan was born on April 25, 1951 to Dorothy Sherratt in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She attended St. Paul Lutheran and Fort Dodge High School. Susan moved to Des Moines in 1971 and worked most of her life in the area of customer service and at one point was a volunteer firefighter. Susan enjoyed cross-stitching, reading romance novels and most of all she treasured time with her family.
Susan is survived by her daughters, Dyann (Bill) Herweh and Andrea (Dan) Goldhammer; son, Greg (Shelby) Powers; sister, Judy (Denny) Woods; grandchildren, Brianna, Caitlyn and Sawyer Herweh, Xavier, Wyatt, Quinn, Brody and Kasey Powers, Aiden Goldhammer; niece, Kristin Kasten and nephew, Scott Woods. She was preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA.
