Ruth Van Dorn

Marjorie Ruth Lyman Van Dorn, 88 formerly of Des Moines, died in Olathe, Kansas, on December 15, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Van Dorn and her daughter, Virginia “Ginger” Van Dorn, her parents, a brother and three sisters.
She is survived by her son, Grant Van Dorn and wife Jilia of Branson West, Missouri, her daughter, Karen Bernhard and husband, Jack of Overland Park, Kansas, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and her sister, Rae Rehard and husband, Bill of Des Moines.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa. A private burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
