Service Details

Norma Jean Bolin, 84, died Saturday December 13, 2008 at Union Park Nursing Home from congestive heart failure. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday December 19, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the funeral home following the service and prior to the burial.
Norma was born November 30, 1924 to George and Marie Lemon in Wisconsin. She graduated from East High School and earned diplomas from both AIB and Northwest Bible College. Norma helped her parents operate the Fairview Café for many years and then retired as a secretary from the Des Moines Public Schools.
Norma is survived by her children, Linda (Chuck) Blakely of Olathe, KS, Jacqueline Wilson of Des Moines, and David W. (Bridget) Bolin Jr. of Panama City, FL; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie Lemon; husband, David Bolin; son, Richard Bolin; and brothers, Robert Lemon and George Lemon Jr.
Memorial contributions may be given to Southern Care Hospice.
Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the funeral home.
