Jan Anderson was born April 23, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa to Fritz and Mary Kopecky and died on Monday, December 8, 2008. She attended St. Theresa grade school, St. Joseph’s Academy and St. Mary College.
Jan was employed by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as a Sales Manager/Loan Originator and previously was associated with American Home Mortgage. Home ownership was a passion of Jan’s and she worked for more than 20 years in the real estate industry.
Jan is survived by her husband, Lynn Robert Anderson; sons, Ryan (fiancé, Elizabeth Ahrold) Monsma and Christopher Monsma, all of Des Moines; step-daughters, Jennifer (Vance) Landas of Jacksonville, Florida and Catherine (Mike) McKee of Greenville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Chase and Sawyer Landas; her in-laws, Lloyd and Ruth Anderson of Delphi, Indiana and many wonderful friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
Jan loved to garden and requested that no flowers be cut. Her favorite charities were Hospice Taylor House, Animal Rescue League or Children’s Variety Club.

Lynn and Family,
We were lucky to have Jan as our neighbor for a short while. We enjoyed visiting with her and admired the beauty she brought to our neighborhood. We watched with amazement as she and Lynn developed beautiful flower beds around their townhome. They were transplanted with love and care from their previous home. We will miss her.

To the Family of Jan Anderson,
You have my deepest sympathy and prayers at this time. Jan was a beautiful woman inside and out, she will truly be missed. Her Spirit, however, will live on in our hearts and on that Great Getting Up Morning, we shall all meet again at Jesus' feet.
She loved people and enjoyed the American Home Mortgage Christmas Parties hosted at her beautiful home, with her husband. We had a GREAT time and Jan enjoyed life and she lived it fully each day. She encouraged others to live life to the fullest. She so enjoyed the Holidays with her family and friends and the beautiful Christmas tree that almost touched the ceiling!!! She was so appreciative and loved to hear me sing. (smiles).
The Grace and Peace of GOD be with you family, the memories in your hearts and minds of Jan will keep you in the coming days.
It was my pleasure and privilege to know Jan. God Be With You All.

I am very sorry for your loss. I had known Jan since the Midland Mortgage days. I will always remember what a light hearted fun person she was. Always smiling and friendly. She will be missed.

Ryan, Chris and Lynn,
We send our deepest sympathy to all of you. May the many wonderful memories that you have of Jan, and the thoughts and prayers from the countless others who loved her too, comfort you during this difficult time.
Jan was just an absolutely wonderful woman. There was never a time that we didn't enjoy seeing her, talking with her and mostly laughing with her. The opportunity that we have had to meet her and become friends with her over the last eight years has made a deep impression on all of us. None of us will ever look at a garden of beautiful flowers the same again, we will always think of our friend Jannie!
She was always so kind to our kids and they enjoyed her so much. From feeding the fish in her pond, to letting them get dirty in her gardens, she was always up for letting them hang out with her.
While we know that these last months have been so difficult for her and all of you, we are certain that Jan is at peace now. She will be incredibly missed by us all and never forgotten. We are fortunate for having known her and played with her. Thank you for sharing her with all of us.

I am so sorry to hear Jan has passed, it is such a great loss. I will always remember the many laughs we had as well as the few lectures...i will never forget the one she gave me before our road trip to alphine valley. Ryan and Chris, you truly are fortunate to have been blessed with such a wonderful mother, whom we all respected and admired.

One of the most profound things Jan taught me was to REALLY learn the true meaning of this songshe loved this songand it defines who she was. She did not deny that bad things happen in life she just appreciated all of the wonderful things that did.
