Reverend John T. Weyer, Jr.

Reverend John T. Weyer, Jr., died on Thursday, December 4, 2008 in Houston, TX. Father Weyer was born in Des Moines on January 22, 1945 to John and Rita (Keefe) Weyer, Sr. Father Weyer was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston on May 4, 1973. He was serving as pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Houston at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Francis. He is survived by his sisters, Florence (Howard) Kroll of Marlin, TX, Irene Weyer of Waco, TX, and Connie (Stan) Hughes of Lubbock, TX; brother, Larry Weyer of CA; and aunts, Catherine Morrissey and Rose Schneider of Des Moines.
Mass of Christian Burial was on December 10 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church by Cardinal DiNardo. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale, with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at noon Saturday, December 13, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery in Bluffton, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX 77025.
