Dorothy Anderson

Dorothy Pauline Anderson, died at her home Monday, December 1, 2008, two weeks shy of her 92nd birthday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6th & Keo, with burial at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Dorothy was born December 17, 1916 in Luther, Iowa. She was raised on a farm and played basketball for Luther High School. Dorothy worked hard all of her life. She was a childcare provider for 35 years. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, raising collie dogs, and walking everywhere. She loved to enter contests, among her many prizes were two new cars. Dorothy also enjoyed music, especially Frank Sinatra. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Virgil. She is survived by her sons, Larry, Chris and Tim Anderson: sisters, Loren Chalmers of Oregon and Doris Clemens of Minnesota; and numerous other relatives and friends. (Noctwisnascfirdode)
