To the White Family: I am so sorry to hear of Cathy's passing.I last saw her at our 55th Reunion in 2014. I met Cathy at Roosevelt HS and we hung out with a great group of girls. We saw each other over the years for good fun and lots of laughs. I will remember her always for her cheerfulness and friendliness to everyone...always a kind word.
So sorry for your loss.

Dear Family of Cathy...I first met Cathy in 7th grade at Roosevelt.
We remained friends throughout high school and became "sisters" in Theta sorority at Drake. When I visited Des Moines, Cathy and I usually got together. I use to work for Wayne at Ashworth Pool as a "basket girl", cashier, and then life guard. Cathy was a dear and loving lady and always wanted the best for everyone she knew. I will miss her sweet smile and kind nature. With Condolences and love, Betty

Dear White Family: It has been a long time since I talked to Cathy. I happened to be one of the Ashworth pool "rats" that worked for your grandfather,Wayne. I have now worked at the DM pools for 53 summers and still am in some capacity. I remember talking to Cathy a few times a long time ago and she was always fun to talk with. Seeing her mentioned in the paper brought back a lot of memories of your mom and your grandfather. Sorry for your loss.

Dear Brian, Paul, David, Peggy, Mary Ann, and family:
Betty and I were so saddened to learn of the recent passing of our dear friend, Cathy Smedes White. Jim was a close fraternity brother of mine and we all shared some fun times together in days gone bye. There were 6 sports cars at Drake when we were there, 5 at the Sig Ep house alone. Both Jim and I were 2 of those drivers. Cathy looked so cool in those cars and everyone who ever met Cathy thought she was one of the prettiest and most gracious girls they had ever met. Cathy was always so kind and considerate to everyone and was so admired by others. Over the years, our contacts were few and far between, but whenever our paths crossed, it was like we had been together only yesterday.
Our thoughts and prayers will go with you in the days that lie ahead. One thing for certain, Cathy is now in heaven and sitting at the right hand of God our Father and smiling down on us all.
