Doak M. Wyckoff
January 31, 2019
Doak M. Wyckoff, 63, went to his new home with his Lord and Savior on January 31, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born in Des Moines on July 25, 1955 to Donald and Mary Wyckoff.
Doak always gave God the glory and thanked Him for his many blessings.
Doak was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Everyone says he was the best ever story teller. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He will be remembered most as a funny, kind, and loving man.
Doak is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Becky; children, Shon Wyckoff and Brandy (Rob) Neer; grandchildren, Tegan, Reese, Frankee, Charlee, and Kenedee; siblings, Donnie (Jane), Pam (John) Barnett, Ron (Lee), Kalyn (Neil Jay) Lucas, Kyle (Krysta) and Tobie (Jodi) Wyckoff; sister-in-law, Mikie (Philip) Speyer; brother-in-law, Denny Cron; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2019 at Lighthouse Community Church, 7705 Indianola Ave in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the church. Burial will take place at Carlisle Cemetery in Carlisle, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Doak.

Doak was a very special person to many. He was never at a loss for words and always ready to share a good story, especially about his family, whom he loved dearly, and his faith. Go rest high on that mountain and prepare a place for us to join you some day. Love always!

This man was hands down the most generous person I know. I still have the most memorable Christmas with the remote control racetrack as a gift. The mushroom hunting, Iowa games & jamming to tunes are all fond memories. He loved his music! Many songs always can take you right back to a moment with Doak. And last but not least, his belief was his belief. Whether it be a new food to try, person to meet or an event to go to you bet your bottom dollar you WILL have the same experience as him Or....maybe you wouldn't, but you would always just play along because you still got the opportunity to hang out with him. He was a larger than life character and he will sorely be missed by many. Thank you for being Tegan & Reesie's "poppy".

Wyckoff Family- We send our deepest good thoughts and prayers to each of you. We have been blessed to know you for over 30 years and know how special Doak is. We pray you find comfort knowing he's with his Lord...and they're probably having a discussion right now about the Hawkeye football team! Peace and Comfort to all of you.

To Doak's family & all of my Wyckoff family. It is so sad to write this, but I do have the assurance that Doak did not die. His testimony has assured me that he has moved to Heaven. It's hard to see you leave us Doak, Separation is so difficult. We are thankful we have the peace that passes all understanding. We will see you in the morning just inside the Eastern Gate .
