Doak M. Wyckoff
January 31, 2019
Doak M. Wyckoff, 63, went to his new home with his Lord and Savior on January 31, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born in Des Moines on July 25, 1955 to Donald and Mary Wyckoff.
Doak always gave God the glory and thanked Him for his many blessings.
Doak was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Everyone says he was the best ever story teller. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He will be remembered most as a funny, kind, and loving man.
Doak is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Becky; children, Shon Wyckoff and Brandy (Rob) Neer; grandchildren, Tegan, Reese, Frankee, Charlee, and Kenedee; siblings, Donnie (Jane), Pam (John) Barnett, Ron (Lee), Kalyn (Neil Jay) Lucas, Kyle (Krysta) and Tobie (Jodi) Wyckoff; sister-in-law, Mikie (Philip) Speyer; brother-in-law, Denny Cron; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2019 at Lighthouse Community Church, 7705 Indianola Ave in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the church. Burial will take place at Carlisle Cemetery in Carlisle, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Doak.

I was so sad to learn of Doak's passing. I went to kindergarten and graduated with Doak at Carlisle Hartford Consolidated School. Doak was always a very kind, caring, and happy person. His eyes always twinkled when he smiled. Doak was just one of those earth angels and he is pre-approved to enter Heaven as a result. My sincere sympathy to his family and all the Wyckoff families. God bless you all. Take care.

Doak, I cant process the fact that youre not here any longer. Yours was the face I always looked for at family gatherings. I knew Id always get a huge hug! So many memories from childhood and beyond for me to cherish. Becky, Shon, Brandy, my heart breaks for you right now. I know you take comfort in the strong faith Doak had and willingly shared with others. To his siblings, my cousins, I know the pain you have at the loss of your brother, taken far too soon. My heart aches for all of you as well. This is not good-bye...its Doak running up ahead, waiting for us to catch up in a little while. See you buddy...on the other side. Save me a seat next to you. Love to you all!

When I read the news of Doak's passing I was very saddened to hear about it. I had visited with Doak on a few occasions. What I realized when visiting with him that he had a great sense of humor, full of compassion, and loved the Lord. I can see Doak getting to heaven looking around locating Lord and saying "Okay God what can I do to help you up here,
oh and by the way do you know where Nile Kinnick is?" Wycoff family I am so sorry for your loss. Take comfort in the Lord to get you through your grief.
