Service Details
Russell W. Carter, 101, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Senior Suites of Urbandale. Memorial services will be held 2pm Friday, December 5, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens.
Russell was born to Luetta and Herbert Carter on August 25, 1907 in Versailles, Indiana. He served in the US Army during World War II.
Russell retired from Firestone after working for 25 years. He was a long time member of Glen Echo Christian Church. He loved being with his family and spending time with his granddaughters. He enjoyed taking pictures. Most of all he was an inventor.
Russell is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty; his children, Craig Carter of Marshalltown, Catherine S. Trampel of Cedar Rapids and Christine A. Hull of Marshalltown; his granddaughters, Cara Sue, Lindsay, Elizabeth and Lara. His brother, Herschel Carter
Memorial contributions are suggested to Southern Care Hospice or Glen Echo Christian Church.

Betty,
I saw this on the internet in the Des Moines paper this morning. I worked with you at Sears many years ago. I noticed that Charlene Hedberg died also. She worked with us at the same time. We live in Green Valley, Arizona now.
Wow! What a long life your husband had! And 62 years of marriage!
