Lawrence Manhart

Lawrence Peter Manhart, 77, died November 26, 2008 at home in Runnells, IA. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Carlisle, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street with a Wake Service at 6:00 p.m.
Lawrence was born October 21, 1931 in Dubuque, Iowa to Lawrence C. and Agatha (Klein) Manhart. He enjoyed spending time with his family and restoring cars and was a fixer up of most things mechanical. Lawrence owned Manhart Tire Service, worked with Solar Aircraft and retired from John Deere as an Inspector.
Lawrence was a member of the St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and Past Grand Knight (KOC).
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Larry (Bernadine) Manhart, Randy Manhart; Daughters, Cathy Manhart, Cindy (Catherine Smith) Manhart; Granddaughter, Naomi Robinson, 3 Great Grandchildren; sister, Marge Glovic. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Rita Norman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus.
