Eunice J. Smith

Eunice Juanita Smith of Urbandale, Iowa, died November 19, 2008 from complications of throat cancer. She was a short term resident of The Village of Legacy Point nursing home in Waukee, Iowa. She was a long time resident of the Des Moines, Iowa, area.
Burial arrangements will be made by the Hamilton Funeral Home, West Des Moines, Iowa. Burial will be at the Garwin, Tama County, Iowa Cemetery on Monday, November 24, 2008. There will be a grave site service at 10:30 a.m.
Mrs. Smith was born December 25, 1921 in Garwin, the daughter of Walter and Hazel (Snodgrass) Earhart. She graduated from Garwin High School. She retired as a long term employee of GMAC in Des Moines, Iowa. She was an early and continuing supporter and past board member of the Tama County Museum in Toledo, Iowa. She had a life long interest in genealogy. She was a member of the Iowa and the German Genealogy Society.
She is preceded in death by husbands Jerry I. Jutting in 1970 and John T. Smith in 1978; her father and mother; and one sister, Cathern Lovstad.
She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law: Shirley and Ron Rodgers of Green Bay, WI, and Marion and Don Smith of Aurora, NE. Also, surviving are two nieces and four nephews.
