Marie L. Parker

Marie Parker, 88, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Valley View Village. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Marie was born January 18, 1920 in Newburn, IA to Ralph and Fanny Stout. She lived in the Des Moines area most of her life and worked in the cafeteria for the Des Moines Public Schools for 22 years and Pizza Hut for four years. Marie was a member of Eastside Nazarene Church.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ira Parker. She is survived by her sons, Mark (Carolyn) Parker of Jackson, MO and David (Atha) Parker of Kankakee, IL; two grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Hendrick and Susan (Allen) Adomite; and three great-grandchildren, Emily, Nathan and Sophia Hendrick.
