Edward "Eddie" Harris

Edward Leon Harris was born on April 9th, 1966 in Des Moines, Iowa to Olive G. Harris and Edward McQuarry. After a courageous fight with cancer, Eddie was called home to be with the Lord on January 29th, 2019 surrounded by family.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Olive G. Harris (Jones) and Edward McQuarry. Left to cherish all the precious memories are his children, Sarah, Nytierra, Ariana, Nakiya, and six grandchildren; siblings; John Jr, David (Jamie), Rodney (Terry), Marvin (Bonita), Brian, Tracy (Cara), Frederick, Toni, Carla, Lupe, Robin, Jonita (Virgil), Terry “Zoonie” Davis (Nirobi), Michael, and Pam; stepmother Evelyn McQuarry, Aunt Margi Mabry, Uncle Harold McQuarry, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Elim Christian Fellowship, 525 E 9th Street, Des Moines, and will conclude with burial at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.

Contributions may be directed to the family in care of Hamilton's Funeral Home for a future designation.
