I played for Coach Waugh on his first team in Atlantic Iowa. We struggled some that first year, but we all knew how good a coach he would be. Several years later, he took the Trojans to the state championship game. He was a tough coach but fair. It was an honor to play for him. My condolences for your loss.

My condolences to Jerry's family. I know he will be greatly missed. My memories of Jerry were watching him run the floor at our high school ballgames. He also played one year at Iowa State. I went to watch him play there and as a result I have been an avid Cyclone fan my whole adult life. I wish I could have watched him play at UNI.

Marcia and family, I just read of Jerry's passing in the SAI Report. I'm so sad to have seen that. Jerry was a tremendous educator and an even better person. Everyone who knew him was just a little bit better as a person for having that relationship. God bless you in your time of grief.

Deepest sympathy to Jerry's family. It was a great honor to play basketball with him at UNI back in the 1960's. He had amazing shooting talent and could jump out of the gym!!!!!
More than that he was a super Educator and coach.

Trish, Mike, Marcia and family,
I was so saddened to learn of Jerry's sudden passing. I have many fond memories of our times together at Jefferson High School, where Jerry served as our principal. I will always appreciate the support he provided to me as a teacher and coach, as well as the encouragement he provided to me as a fellow school administrator later in my career. He touched the lives of many young people throughout his life and made a big difference with his leadership. Chris and I are unable to attend his funeral services, but please know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. May God Bless You All!

Marcia, I am so sorry to learn of Jerrys passing. It was my pleasure to get to know you both when I moved back to Des Moines and so enjoyed our times together. There arent that many of us Mt Ayr graduates so I enjoyed comparing high school stories with Jerry. I valued your real estate skills and your friendship. I now live in Decorah so wont be able to express my condolences in person, but please know youre in my thoughts and prayers.
