Thomas John McMahon
January 24, 2019
Thomas John McMahon, 74, of Clive, IA was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on January 24, 2019. Services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church in Clive at 11:30 a.m. with visitation prior from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Tom was gifted November 11, 1944 to Euphrasia and Patrick McMahon of Omaha. Thomas lived in Omaha, NE and Denver, CO most of his formative years. He attended St. Cecilia’s Cathedral and University of Nebraska at Omaha, and graduated from Omaha School of Commercial Art. Tom was in sales most of his adult life, having worked for Vicks Chemical, Homelite/Textron and Yellow, Inc. Tom and Pam were united in marriage on August 7, 1965.
Tom never met a stranger, as he would soon engage them in conversation. Tom was the ultimate storyteller, always with ab lib and embellishments.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Pam; sons, Thomas D. (Lisa) and Michael, all of Des Moines, and Matthew (Angela) of Atlanta, GA; two cherished grandchildren, Vivian Rose and Dawson John; brother-in-law, David; sister-in-law, Katie; and his first cousins who were like brothers and sisters to Tom, as he was an only child, Oakley (Katie) Gibbs of Omaha, NE, Gerald (Sherry) Gibbs of California, Bob (Lisa) Gibbs of Naples, FL, Bruce Gibbs and Kathy Gibbs, both of Omaha. Tom was preceded by his parents; his in-laws, Wilton and Louise Hough; his special Aunt Kathleen; and his golden companions, Kramer, Newmann and Murphy
Tom’s favorite moments were being with his family whom he loved dearly. He also had a close bond with his many friends, including the “GG” and enjoying an annual trip to Clear Lake. Tom also enjoyed fishing, traveling, classic rock n roll, concerts and dabbling in his art talent.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family and condolences expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com

Tom was a loving husband and father. He and Pam have been wonderful friends for 46 years, through life's good times and those character building trial times life brings. It always seemed the two of them had more than their share of "character builders". All those trials made the two of you the wonderful, empathetic, kind, generous, fun loving, loyal and good friends you have been to us all these years. We are greatful to God for placing Tom & Pam in our lives. We are greatful to God that Tom's trials on this earth are over, and he is now with his Heavenly Father, who's peace and love for Tom passes all our understanding, and that brings us great comfort and peace. Pam, the good Lord and your family and friends will be with you as you move forward one day at a time. We love you.

We will miss our incredible friend, Tom.
There is no one like him and no other awesome couple like Tom and Pam.
No other couple have dealt with so many challenges and joy with such strong faith, optimism, courage and love.
