Mary Ann Halter

Mary Ann Halter, 82, passed away January 22, 2019 at Kavanaugh House on 56th Street.

Mary Ann was born April 1, 1936 in Des Moines to Charles and Helen (Kepler) Riley. She married Max Leon Halter on April 7, 1956. Together they raised five children. Mary Ann absolutely adored her family and loved attending her family’s events. She also enjoyed cooking. Mary Ann had been a member of Christ the King Catholic Church since 1961.

Mary Ann is survived by her children, Julie (Kraig) Graff, Steve Halter, Lisa (Luke) Dixon and Paul (Amy) Halter; daughter-in-law, Sherry Halter; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, David and her husband, Max.

The family will greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 28th at the funeral home. Mary Ann will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Max at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
