Ceann Bailey, 48, went home to be with God on November 14, 2008. She was born on September 10, 1960 to Kenneth Bailey and the late Beverly Bailey. She was an avid outdoorsman and always lived life to the fullest.
Ceann is survived by her daughter, Shelly Steingrabe; two sons, Robert Steingrabe and Jeremiah Steingrabe; three brothers, Keith (Nancy) Bailey, Kevin (Dixie) Bailey and Ken (Shelly) Bailey; her father, Kenneth Bailey; two grandchildren; two nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Bailey; her grandmothers, Hazel Bailey and Pauline Sparks and her grandfathers, Lloyd Bailey and Russell Sparks.
The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St SW in Altoona. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Santiago United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the Franklin Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in loving memory of Ceann.

Ceann, What happened?? You called me a few years ago because you had a bad dream that something happened to me and wanted to make sure I was O.K. We had a good talk on the phone and I assured you I was fine and thanked you for thinking of me. You gave me your E-mail address and I was supposed to get back to you but with one computer in the house I could never get on it. I had so much fun with with you when we were teenagers. Some things I will never forget, such as....remember when we went to Baker's Square and bought a french silk pie, took it back to your house and ate the whole thing??? We would cruise around Colfax in your car, which was so cool. I remember it was silver and in much better condition than mine. We worked at the Altoona Nursing Home together and the day that they would not let us work down the same hall together we decided to quit. Like yesterday, I see us punching out and as we walked out the door you yelled, "You can take this job and #*!!!#**, and I said ,"that goes for me, too!" The last time I saw you was at South East Polk at a band concert that our daughters were in. Why does it take loosing someone to make you realize we should have stayed in touch?? I'll never forget your laugh, your smile, the way you always made me feel good just being your friend. When my time comes, I'm going to find you and we will relive all the good times. We are so sorry to hear of your loved one's passing. We pray that God will comfort you during this difficult time and in the days to come. Time will heal your heartache. Remeber the precious time you shared. We are unable to be with you in person but our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May you feel God's presence and the love of family and friends.

I too, worked at Farm Bureau with Ceanne. My mother and her mother were co-workers at Farm bureau as well. I had not seen Ceanne in years, until a couple of years ago, out of the blue, she called me at my Grandson's home in baxter, IA....she wondered if I would like to see her? Well, needless to say, Ceanne came right over to the Berry's house in baxter and we spent an hour or so catching up on old times and where our lives had taken us. I was shocked to see her obituary in the paper. If someone would not mind calling me, at 422-8059, I would like to know what took her so suddenly from us. Ceanne was a lively, not ever shy, chatty young women who I enjoyed knowing for all of these years. My love and prayers to her family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Ceann's death. I worked with Ceann at Farm Bureau and created lasting friendship with her. I have many memories of Ceann, and she will be missed. My prayer go out to her children and family...

I was deeply saddened to haer about Ceann`s death. I only knew her for a short while,but from the day I meet her I knew she was an amazing person. Whenever she saw me in Wal-mart she always made an attempt to speak to me and I will never forget her for that. My Prayers go out to all of Ceann`s family. She will be missed

I graduated from Southeast Polk in 1979. I believe that Ceann was in our graduating class. I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God will give you comfort during this time.

Although we have know Ceann for a short time, we will miss seeing her at our events. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that loved and knew her.
