Stephen Rhoads

Stephen passed away on 17 January 2019. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 2, 1941. He lived his entire life in Des Moines but moved to Marshalltown in November 2013 where he lived in the Iowa Veterans Home. He was a graduate of Warren Harding Jr. High School and North Des Moines High School, Class of January 1960. His parents, Leonard & Thelma, preceded him in death. He is survived by two brothers, Richard and Dennis (Linda).

Stephen served four years in the US Marine Corps. After discharge his primary career was a semi-truck driver, traveling mainly from the Mid-West to the East Coast. Stephen loved to talk to people. He made a point of visiting other relatives and friends during most of those trips.

Per his request there will be no memorial service. Hamilton’s Funeral Home is handling burial details. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens next to where his parents are buried.
