Mary Charlene Stapes

Charlene Stapes passed away January 15, 2019 at Unity Point Health Des Moines Methodist at the age of 81. No services are planned at this time.

Charlene was born June 25, 1937 in West Des Moines to Albert and Kathryn (Gresham) Aldrich. She married Lloyd Stapes on September 10, 1955. Charlene was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Charlene is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Lloyd; sons, Rick (Susan) Stapes and Tom Stapes; daughter-in-law, Terry Stapes; grandsons, Cody (Laura), Chad (Katie); great-grandchild, Sophia; sister, Saundra Hill; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tim Stapes; and her brother, Bob Aldrich.
