Luckey James Searcy, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa.
Luckey was born October 22, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles and Maxine (Luckey) Searcy. He was a welder steamfitter for over 50 years. He was a 50-year member of Westgate Adelphic Lodge and Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33. Luckey enjoyed racing and built engines for sprint cars.
Luckey is survived by his sons, Jeff (Lisa) Searcy and William Searcy; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Caitlin, Wesley, Brianna, and Brooklyn Searcy; sister-in-law, Vicki Searcy; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beth; parents, Charles and Maxine; and his siblings, Joyce Grosland and Chuck Searcy.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery/Masonic section, Des Moines.

I'm so glad Chuck and Luckey were such good friends all their lives. Before Luckey's wife's tragic early death, we were able to get together as friends. I know Luckey missed Chuck almost as much as I did. God bless all 3 of them until we will all be together again.
