Margaret J. Morgan
January 14, 2019
Margaret J. Morgan passed away January 14, 2019, at Mill-Pond in Ankeny.
Marge had a wonderful life of 99 ½ years! She got her driver’s license at age 64 after her husband passed away and loved the independence that gave her – she drove everywhere!
Marge enjoyed crafts, bowling, bingo, grocery shopping, cribbage, gardening, flowers, friends and family, and her work. Her work history included Knox Café, Woolworth, JC Penney, Hobby and Craft, and she retired as hostess at McDonald’s at age 78.
Marge’s favorite saying was, “I go to bed ornery and I wake up ornery, and that’s just the way it is.” She was quite a character – an amazing cook and baker, and much loved by all.
Those left to cherish her memories are daughters, Shirley Kepford, Pat Morgan, Linda Fees and son-in-law, Jerry Fees; grandchildren, Steven (Marta) Kepford, Scott Kepford, and Michelle Ray; four great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Marge was preceded in death by her spouse, James Morgan; her daughter, Sandy Morgan, and grandson, Tre Ray.

Linda, Pat and Shirley,
Your dear mother was a fixture in our neighborhood where she and my sweet little mama were best of friends. They visited about flowers, birds, their daughters and the love of Jesus. As aging crept up, and life slowed down, wed look forward to our games of Dominoes as we enjoyed warm cookies and ice cream.
When she and I recently exchanged Christmas gifts, I sensed a weariness in little Marge and tried not to believe she would soon be moving to a better place. So, when Linda called, it was not a surprise but an affirmation that Marge is now full of joy and energy. As my mind wanders, I wonder if she and my mom, Bea, are visiting once again, and enjoying Heaven together. Marge will always be a sweet memory. Thank you for sharing her with me.
