Noreen Rae Bates

Noreen Rae McFall Bates, born January 4, 1949, passed away November 10, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was the daughter of the late Clifford Winfield and Edith Marie (Hogg) McFall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Larry Bates, Sr. and their son, Jeremy Matthew Bates. Noreen is survived by a son, Chester Larry Bates, Jr., and wife Sarah of Huxley, Iowa; a daughter, Melinda Kay Kahn and husband Matthew of Moore, SC; a brother, James McFall; and a sister, Linda Nixon, both of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren, Jonathon Daniel, Kathryn Marie and LeighAnn Rae Kahn, Laura Jeanne, Audrey Josephine and Jeremy Matthew Bates.
The family will receive friends at Hamilton East Funeral Home in Des Moines, Iowa, Thursday, November 13, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Hamilton East Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
