George Russell, 64, died Monday, November 10, 2008 in Des Moines. George was born on December 1, 1943. He married Terrie Allen on August 8, 1964. George enjoyed golfing, fishing and sign painting.
George is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Terrie; sons, Jim (Lainey) Russell, Scott (Deborah) Russell; and grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Ashley and Hannah. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Damian and his parents.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. Friends may visit with family from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of George.

Terrie and Family,
I was the sale manager for the Simmons Company for several years and worked with George on many occassions. I considered George a friend and always enjoyed seeing him even after I left Simmons. I am very sadden by his passing and will cherish all the good times that we shared. Terrie, please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family.

Terrie & Family,
I am sooooo sorry to hear of the passing of George. You are all in my prayers, and thoughts at this time of great sadness. This is a time of reflecting the good times in your long journey together. Savor the best of those times and forget about the rest. You truley did Love each other or you would not have been together since 1964.
