Martalyn Jones

Marty Jones, 84, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Marty was born on July 10, 1924 to Martin and Amelia Yelden in Earlville, Iowa.
Marty was a charter member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church and was involved in many of their activities. She enjoyed volunteering and playing cards.
Marty is survived by her daughter, Maralyn (George) Burnside of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Margaret Kragenbrink of Manchester, Iowa; nephew, Gene (Melody) Kragenbrink of Ankeny, Iowa; nieces, Joanne (Jim) Laxson of Earlville, and Carol State of Denver, Colorado. Marty was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, her parents, a sister, a nephew and a niece.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 4003 2nd Avenue; burial will be 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Earlville. Friends may visit with family Monday, November 10, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church in loving memory of Marty.
