Gladys Crede

Gladys Irene Cottrell-Crede, 90, passed away December 31, 2006 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service.
Gladys was born July 16, 1916 in Winifrede, West Virginia to Ruth and Clyde Petry. She lived in Winifrede for 25 years as well as in Mahan and Charleston before moving to Des Moines. She retired from Broadlawns Medical Center after working in the housekeeping department for 15 years.
Gladys enjoyed growing flowers of all types. She spent her whole life taking care of others. She loved her dog Spanky and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her 2 grandchildren and by her husband, Walter Crede. She is survived by her children, Donald E. Cottrell,
Shirley J. Rowlands both of Charleston, WV, Fay L. Cottrell of Winifrede, WV, Janet S. Lloyd of Des Moines, Clyde J. Cottrell of Ripley, WV, Thomas G. Cottrell of Winifrede, WV.; her sister, Juanita Nelson of Colcord, WV, 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren
