Patrick Monaghan

Patrick Monaghan, 53, of Des Moines passed away on October 31, 2008 at his home following a heart attack. He was diagnosed with cancer in June of 2008 and had beaten that. He will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Wilson Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home in Mt. Ayr. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Patrick was born and raised in Mt. Ayr and had graduated from Mt. Ayr High School in 1973. He had spent 20 years living in Creston, had also lived in Diagonal and had been living in Des Moines for the past 6 years. He had worked as a support manager for Wal Mart and loved to golf, hunt, cheer for the Hawkeys and spend time with his 7 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Char, his daughters Nicole (Josh) Supinger of Kellerton, Jamie (Chad) Holmes of Kellerton, his grandchildren Tristan, Darrian, Kaidan, Shealyn, Scout, Rhianna and Chaddlan, his brothers Mike Monaghan of Des Moines and Kelly Monaghan of Creston, his sister Katie (Ronche) Still of Mt. Ayr as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ruth Monaghan and his brother Casey Monaghan.
