Ruth Townsley

Ruth M. Townsley, 79, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday, October 31st at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Laurel Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Ruth was born July 15, 1929 in Polk City. She worked as a payroll officer for Iowa Workforce Development for 33 years and then worked at Aviva for 10 years before her health forced her to finally retire. One of her greatest joys was reading and another was family. Ruth will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandma and great grandma.
Ruth is survived by her daughters Denny Bradshaw, Bridget Townsley; her son Russ Townsley; her granddaughter Angela (Tim) Carlson; her great granddaughter Gabrielle Carlson and several step grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Des Moines Public Library.
