Dorothy Hamel

Dorothy D. Kline-Hamell, 91, of Pleasant Hill left this world surrounded by love on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Berean Assembly of God Church, 5225 Maple Dr., Pleasant Hill. Burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family present, Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines
Dorothy was a member of the Berean Assembly of God Church. She was the last surviving of 8 children born to Millard and Lena Godwin. Dorothy was a classy lady, who always had a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eye. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Dorothy is survived by her 3 daughters, Sandra (Harry) Jeffries of Altoona, Beverly (Gordon) Whitney of Saylor Township and Joann (Lee) Titus of Saylorville; step-son, Mike (Cathy) Hamell of Oregon; 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Russell Kline in 1970; second husband, Charles Hamell in 2001; a great-grandson, Jerry Titus and seven brothers and sisters.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Berean Assembly of God Church in Pleasant Hill in lieu of flowers.
