Mary Ann Jones
December 19, 2018
Mary Ann Jones, age 76, passed away on December 19, 2018, due to complications of cerebral palsy. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 25, 1942, the daughter of Floyd and Jessie (McAfee) Jones, and for the past 14 years was a resident of Fleur Heights Care Center.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Barbara Beck of Des Moines, Doris (Steve) Stoermer of Ankeny, and Casey (Michael) Glenn of Altoona; aunt, Nancy Lantz; uncle, Harland Goode; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother, brother-in-law, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and the love of her life, Leroy Poulson.
Although Mary had many challenges throughout her life, she always met them with her infectious smile. Her smile and twinkle is in our hearts and soul. We take comfort in the knowledge she is in heaven now, living in the fullness of Jesus. Her legacy is in the fabric of our lives and in all the lives that were touched by Mary. God blessed our family with one of His sweet angels.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2018 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 22nd at the funeral home followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Midwest.

My sympathies go out to you three girls. Mary Ann played a large part in your lives. Wish the world could be as kind and sweet as she was -- I know everyone will miss her smiles...but now she will be with all the family and friends already there.

Such a blessing to our family... taught us all about how to handle adversity with character. Anyone that knew Mary Ann loved her. She never complained and had smiles for all that visited.
