Sharon Kay "Sheri" McPherson

Sharon Kay “Sheri” McPherson, 69, was born May 28, 1949 in Carroll, Iowa to Richard and Alma Schulte. She passed away peacefully Friday, December 14, 2018 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa surrounded by family. She worked at Great American Outdoor, Van Wall Equipment as an office manager for 33 years.

Sheri is survived by her husband, John McPherson, Jr.; sons, Michael, Matthew (Elizabeth); siblings, Lois (Bernard) Poore and David Schulte; grandchildren, Austin (Marissa) McPherson, Mykale McPherson and Claudia Harlan; great-grandchildren, twins Buster and Harper McPherson; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Alma Schulte; brothers, Richard and Kenny; and sisters, JoAnn Vaughan and Janice Seivert.

She was fond of boating, camping, and also vacationing in Florida.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens, Merle Hay Cemetery, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa in memory of Sharon.

I will always remember Sheri's kindness and smile from when I'd see her at VanWall. My husband, Brad, always enjoyed working with Sheri at VanWall and had nothing but good things to say for her work and kindness. Rest in Peace Sheri!
