Florence Hayden

Florence Marguerite Hayden was born on December 2, 1916 in Des Moines, Iowa, and passed away October 26, 2006 at Luther Park Trinity Center. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2006 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Farrar Cemetery.
Marguerite was the daughter of Leroy and Florence (Long) Davis. She attended school in the Maxwell Farrar district and graduated from North High School in Des Moines. She was employed as a medical assistant in the Des Moines area.
Marguerite was married to Gunnar Bertelsen in 1934 and had two sons, Leroy Dean and John Alan.
Marguerite is survived by her son, Dean (Doris) Bertelsen of Charles City; daughter-in-law, Sandy Bertelsen of Carlisle; granddaughters, Vicky Moon of Altoona, Cindy (Bill) Brinkman of Saylorville, Kelly (Lori Septer) Bertelsen of Altoona, Lori (Tim) Clark, Teresa Bertelsen, and Kathy (Gene) Pettit all of Charles City; eight great-grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild .
She was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, John D. Hayden; her son, John Bertelsen and granddaughter, Debbie Jo Bertelsen.
Marguerite was a member of Highland Park Christian Church and will be missed by her many friends and the staff at Luther Park Trinity Center.
The family sincerely thanks the staff at Trinity and Hospice of Central Iowa for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Marguerite and her loved ones.
