Robert Francis Yelenick of Des Moines died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Bright Kavanagh House. Robert worked at the Post Office for 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, in which he received a Purple Heart. He was an avid golfer and belonged to Narfe. He also loved the Hawkeye’s and the Cubs.
Robert is survived by his wife, Carolyn; sons, Rob and Ted; grandsons, Chris and Mike Yelenick; stepdaughter, Cathy Soutter; stepson, Rick Soutter; step granddaughter, Tonya Mills; step grandsons, Devin Soutter and Lance Fathers; and great grandson, Fabian Mills; daughters-in-law, Missy Soutter and Liz Yelenick.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
