Wanda Martin

Wanda Martin, 91, died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St. with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Wanda was born February 11, 1917 to Eva and George Husted in rural Wayne County, Iowa. She was a member of the South Side Senior Citizens Center in Des Moines. She was very good at all kinds of crafts, and was an excellent cook. She was a true loving mother who will be especially missed by her children.
Wanda is survived by her children: Janet (Marshall) Edwards, Robert (Joyce), Elmer (Becky), Delbert (Sharon), and Albert Martin; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred; and her many brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2008 at Hamilton’s Southtown. Memorial Contributions may be made to the South Side Senior Citizens Center.
