Richard Easter

Richard (Dick) Easter, 83, passed away Monday, October 20, 2008. Dick was born August 30, 1925 to Delmar Easter and Eva Fern Ross. Dick met his wife Evelyn Lint and married her on November 6, 1944. Together they had three children: Rick, Janice and Kathe.
Dick served in WWII in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. He was a walnut log buyer. He farmed in Saylorville for many years before moving to Osceola. He enjoyed raising cattle and being with family and friends. Dick also enjoyed watching western movies.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Evelyn Easter; three children, Rick (Janet) Easter of Osceola, Iowa, Janice (Chuck) Burns of Tulsa, OK and Kathe (Bob) Fosnaugh of Johnston, Iowa; brother, Dave (Beverly) Easter; grandchildren, Amy Bracken, Stacey Sanger, Ryan Easter, Valarie Short, and five great grandchildren.
Dick is preceeded in death by his parents, Del and Eva; brother, John; sister, Virginia; great grandson, Richard Darris and favorite dog Jiggy.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5-7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
