Harold Sandin

Harold Kenneth Sandin, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born in Des Moines, on February 5, 1927 to John and Edith Sandin. Harold graduated from East High School in January 1945 and served his country in WW II as a Navy Seaman on board both the USS Pennsylvania and USS Saint Paul until his honorable discharge.
He worked in the family painting business and retired after 38 years from Anderson Erickson Dairy. Harold spent much of his retirement years enjoying wood crafting.
A loving son, brother, husband, father and friend, Harold is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marcine; daughter, Jane; son, James; two brothers, Norman and Marvin; several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents and two older brothers, Donald (Mildred) and Roy (Hazel) preceded him in death.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may be made to Urban Heights Evangelical Convenant Church 76th and Aurora Avenue, Urbandale, in loving memory of Harold.
