Lelah Marie Allbaugh, 86, died on Saturday, October 11, 2008 following a stroke at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Allbaugh was born April 16, 1922 to Levi and Frances (Cox) Cross. She graduated from East High School and lived in Des Moines most of her life. Lelah retired from Iowa Farm Bureau after 36 years of service and was a member of Debra Heights Wesleyan Church and VFW Auxiliary 9127 in which she was Past President.
Lelah is survived by her sisters, June (Gordon) Cubbage of Des Moines, Katherine Harris of Camarillo, CA, and Carolyn Manley of Fountain, CO; granddaughter, Shannon of Ogden, UT; great-grandchildren, Megan, Saige, Cole, and Blaze; many nieces; nephews; and special friends, Ray and Kay Ethell and Rev. Jeremy Geerdes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; daughter, Jerri; son, Leland; brothers, Alva (Buss), Dale, and Marvin Cross; and sisters, Esther Whitney, Ellen Sparks, and Dorothy Wilkinson.
Memorial contributions may be given to Debra Heights Wesleyan Church or Children’s Home in Eden Rapids, Michigan.

I'm so sorry that I can't be at the funeral. We all loved Aunt Lelah so very much! She was such a hoot, full of life and mischief! I will miss her very much but I know she is with mom now.

We attended the funeral of Lucy Olsen in 2002 and visited with Leah at the grave side services.
We our the daughters of Uncle Wayde Cox who lived in Mercer, Mo.
