Betty Miller

Betty Lee Miller, 79, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Betty was born April 11, 1929, to Clifford and Lola Mae Taylor in Independence, MO. She was raised in Des Moines and remained a lifelong resident. Betty married Elmer L. Miller, Sr. on December 7, 1946.
Betty is survived by her son, Elmer “Butch” Miller, Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Des Moines; sisters, Clara Fitzgerald and Mamie Middour, both of Des Moines and Emma Robinson of Pittsburg, KS; granddaughter, Christina L. Fazio and her husband, Joseph M., Jr.; great-granddaughters, Brittney and Whittney Fazio, all of Des Moines; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Miller, Sr.; brothers, Milford and Donald Taylor; and sister, Margaret Mayhugh.
