Vernon Rounds

Rev. Vernon G. Rounds, 82, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Kavanagh House on 56th. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Heritage Assembly of God Church, 5051 NE 5th Street, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Vernon was born April 13, 1926 in Des Moines to Clarence and Alice Rounds. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Vernon was a Minister serving at Community Chapel and Norwoodville Open Bible Church as well as many other churches in other states . Vernon was a member of Heritage Assembly of God Church. He had a passion for his ministry.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 65 years, Thelma; son, Tim Rounds of Orlando, FL. ; daughter, Colleen Kuhns of Redfield, IA. ; brother, Clarence Rounds Jr. of Des Moines ; sister, Sandy Venerable of Altoona, IA; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
