Jeffrey R. Moon
December 14, 2018
Jeffrey Raymond Moon, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 14, 2018 at his home. He was born in Des Moines, on February 4, 1962, to Jack and Irene (Dyer) Moon.
Jeff worked at Principal as a computer operator for many years and was also a volunteer firefighter for Saylor Township and Bondurant. He loved tinkering in his garage, working on cars or anything with a motor, and creating metal yard art out of horseshoes. Jeff truly was a “jack of all trades.” He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. Jeff was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
A loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend, he will be remembered for his great sense of humor, but most importantly the love he had for his family. He was the best dad in the world!
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Tina; daughter, Lyndsey; mother, Irene Moon-Toncar; sister, Diane (Wilbur) Wilson; brothers, John and Jim; sister-in-law, Nancy (Bobby) Tague; brother-in-law, Dennis (Rhonda) Hochmuth; numerous nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and special friends including Shadow and his granddog Opie. Preceded in death by his father Jack Moon and beloved dog Max.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa Donor Network or Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Jeff.

Tina and Lyndsey - I can't even imagine what you are going thru as this shocked me last week. I will always remember Jeff's smiling face and the fact that he could fix almost anything and I think he enjoyed the challenge of doing that. I am praying for your family. I also pray that you draw close to God during this time and know that only He can give you the peace and comfort that goes way beyond our understanding.

1962 - 2018 What mattered most is the dash between those years. The dash represents all the time he spent alive on earth and only those who loved him know what that little line is worth. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
