Joe E. Herrig

Joe Eugene Herrig, 49, passed away December 1, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born November 5, 1969 to James and Ethel (Saffer) Herrig in Des Moines.

Joe graduated from East High School and went on to a career in woodworking. He was an independent craftsman and loved his work. He also enjoyed time with his friends, his beloved cats, and was a great cook on the grill. He was a funny guy and was always picking on his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his mother, Ethel Herrig; father, James Herrig; brothers, John Herrig and Bud Herrig; nieces and nephews, James, Troy, Jake and Jennifer; and many friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
